My interest in sound design and live sound began through my CCA, Concert Band, which I joined in primary school and continued throughout my education. Being part of the band taught me how to read and interpret musical scores, work closely with others, and eventually take on leadership responsibilities as Drum Major. I also had the opportunity to participate in the Singapore Youth Festival (SYF), where I learned the value of teamwork and developed strong communication skills with bandmates from different backgrounds.

As I grew more involved in music, I realised how much sound inspires me and helps me stay grounded. This led me to explore sound beyond performance. My interest deepened when I attended a portfolio development programme at Republic Polytechnic (RP), where I was introduced to sound design, live sound setups, and the technical side of audio production.

Outside of school, listening to K-pop and experiencing my first concert in 2023 sparked a deeper curiosity about how live audio is crafted behind the scenes. Since then, I’ve been motivated to pursue opportunities to learn, experiment, and grow in both sound design and live sound engineering.
